This place is a wonderful Japanese restaurant and bar in DTLA. The inside is very spacious and there bar area is also nice. I came here on a date, I've only gone to their old location once before they relocated here. The previous location store was very homey and old school japanese restaurant vibes. This new location looks like a fancier bigger restaurant and bar, the decor is nice though. I had their unagi (eel) with rice, delicious! They has a special version of this dish that is uncommon in the US. I love to eat it when I visit back in my hometown in Nagoya, Japan as they specialize in eel. Loved the one I got, tasted just as good and fresh. I tried one piece of spicy tuna which was super good too.

Delicious food, everything I've ordered has been so good and I love it all. Nice ambiance with outdoor seating too and the service is great. A fantastic neighborhood treasure and with a lot of history, go in and read the menu to learn more.

My colleagues from work and I visited this restaurant for lunch. It's a 10-minute walk from the financial district of DTLA. Our waiter was extremely hospitable and attentive to our table. He was patient, as most of us have never been here before. The restaurant was clean, and it had good lighting. I personably ordered hayashi rice with egg, as it was recommended by the waiter. The portion and quality were good, and I'd order it again next time. I'd happily come back.

If you can't get a reservation at the fancier places in DTLA, come down to Suehiro and regret nothing. Suehiro is an entirely legitimate food find in DTLA. This is Japanese-style comfort food, in American-sized portions. The atmosphere is young and chill. Prices are low for this part of LA. I had the hamburger steak, and the star of that is the demiglace -- nothing edgy or wacky, just good old solid 1970's-style demiglace, to be mopped up with the copious quantities of rice. Minor quibbles include the wooden slab seating and time to service, which are both to be expected at this level of restaurant. Suehiro is a short ride away from the Ahmanson and all the other big DTLA entertainment venues. So smart money can save a few bucks, by eating here and Ubering to your final destination.

The food was very tasty and the scenery was also very nice and pleasant. I got the curry rice and lychee cocktail. The rice curry was good and not spicy but you can add spicy for an extra charge of $1.50 I think, overall the curry rice is $15-$16 for a good size plate and a good amount of rice. The lychee cocktail is not bad at all, I loved the taste and the alcohol taste wasn't strong but also wasn't sugary. The server was nice and did his job well, it was a slow day so service was quick but all in all very good experience! I would go again

i just have to start this review with a WOW i can't believe how late this place is open until, especially on saturdays like 3am bro? what a blessing and what a time to be alive! after going to a show, friends and i got a spicy tuna and tempura roll. both were really well made. def need to come back and try more things next time. the service was friendly and attentive. really nice ambiance, has the old style architecture of los angeles combined with a slight japanese aesthetic. the bathrooms are really nice like probably the nicest i've ever seen in downtown lol.

This is an excellent and fun Japanese restaurant in a cool area of downtown LA. Service was above average. I decided to move tables to the outdoor patio and was reseated promptly. My main of mackerel with rice was very tasty, really enjoyed it. The vege tempura also was great and I liked there was not too much batter on it like most places. I also enjoyed the cute 6oz. bottle of Saki. I also ordered 2 grilled skewers of cauliflower and zucchini($7 each)that were fun and tasty. I paid a total of $57 and an additional $15 tip for good service. Highly recommended. I plan to visit again soon to try out other selections on the extensive menu.
